Twentieth Century France

Taught in French. An introduction to 20th century French culture through the study of history, politics, literature, music, film, and the fine arts, this course examines major artistic figures and cultural movements throughout the century, as well as the effects of important historical events and conflicts on France’s shifting sense of national identity. Prerequisites: FR150 (or FR230) or permission of the department
